Columbia is the capital of South Carolina and is conveniently located right in the center of the state. Interstates 77,
26, and 20 intersect the state in Columbia. The Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) provides local service to and from Columbia, SC. In addition, the Charlotte Douglas Airport (CLT) is an international Airport located 1.5 hours north of Columbia in the state of North Carolina. See below map for other nearby, but smaller airports.

The nearest beach is Isle of Palms, SC and is located about 1.5 hours southeast on I-26. The most popular beach is Myrtle Beach, and is about 2.5 hours away.

The South Carolina State Museum is a comprehensive museum, with extensive exhibits in the disciplines of art,
