Columbia QuadSquad aided the Sumter Fly Girls in hosting the South Carolina Derby Expo at the Sumter Civic Center in Sumter, SC on November 11, 2012.

The Expo featured the Columbia QuadSquad Miss B-havers, Richland County Regulators, Sumter Fly Girls and Carolina Wreckingballs. Each of the women’s teams duked it out on the track in mini-bouts, with twenty minute halves. The Wreckingballs mixed it up with the women in the final bout of the evening for a co-ed scrimmage.

The expo featured local vendors and exhibitions by several of the Carolina Wreckingballs, who jumped over brave volunteers while on skates.

The featured charity for this event was Harvest Hope Food Bank. Donations were accepted at the door, and the non-perishable food items were taken to Harvest Hope just in time for the holiday season.

What a great way to wrap up the CQS season! Thanks to everyone involved!

Capitol City Vixens 110 vs the Belles on Wheels 186

The CQS Allstars traveled to Alabama last season to take on the Dixie Derby Girls and were faced with a real threat. This rematch, however, proved to be an easy win. The CQS Home Teams followed the Allstar bout. With technical issues including a blown transformer, the derby girls continued their game with only half the lights. The Belles annihilated the Vixens after the loss of Vixen jammer Bloodshed Red due to a broken ankle in the first few jams. Vixen Rosie Riveter took up the slack and forced the score into the triple digits but proved to be no match for Belle blockers Carter Away and Poison Violet.

CQS Miss B-havers 100 vs CSD 126

The Miss B-havers battled CSD earlier this year and won by a 17 point differential. This time the Charlotte Speed Demons proved to be a harder challenge than their matchup in January. With new faces Poison Violent and Creecher gracing the Miss B roster, the CSD girls proved to be powerful at breaking up walls and sending their jammers through. The game was close throughout the second half, often switching leads, but in the end penalties proved to be a problem for the Miss B’s. CSD won with two power jams ending the game at 100-126 CSD.
